Please Invest in Cal Beta's Future!
What is the Leadership Fund? If you've heard of the Chapter Scholarship Fund, this is a similar tax-deductible fund, except the money is used for leadership development and training. Examples include: officer training, the President's Leadership Academy, Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute, Emerging Leaders Institute, hazing prevention resources, etc. These are valuable tools that can make a big difference to the whole chapter.
Many of you have given generously to the Cal Beta Scholarship Fund in the past, and it allows us to give out about $5000 per year in scholarships. But consider that Stanford tuition is about $45k annually (as of 2016-17), and if you include room and board then it's more like $63k. While $5000 of scholarship money isn't nothing, it's easy to argue that it isn't exactly changing the lives of our undergrads.
If you've given to the scholarship fund in the past, I urge you to switch to the new Chapter Leadership Fund. It's my opinion that we get way more bang for our buck this way. If we can spend $5000 per year on leadership training, it will make a huge difference to the members we train, and those benefits will affect the whole chapter.
